MISSION

iChooz Creative Arts Foundation expands equitable access to structured arts education and technical production training for youth and emerging creatives across Chicago, with focused engagement in historically under-resourced communities. Through cohort-based instruction, strategic school and community partnerships, and applied multimedia production experiences, the Foundation develops industry-relevant skills, leadership capacity, and sustainable pathways into the creative workforce.

Community Engagement & Program Overview

Expanding Access. Building Pathways. Sustaining Impact.

iChooz Creative Arts Foundation delivers structured, arts-centered programming that equips youth and emerging creatives with technical training, mentorship, and real-world production experience. Through school partnerships, community-based initiatives, and cohort-driven training models, the Foundation integrates performance, multimedia production, creative education, and workforce exposure.

Programs are implemented through defined training cycles serving approximately 20–25 participants per cohort, with multiple cohorts offered annually. Each cycle combines hands-on instruction, supervised production environments, collaborative project development, and culminating live or recorded creative works.

Participants develop measurable technical competencies alongside transferable workforce skills — including communication, problem-solving, project management, and leadership — aligned with industry standards within the creative sector.

By bridging cultural expression with economic opportunity, iChooz creates structured pathways that expand access, strengthen workforce readiness, and contribute to long-term economic mobility in Chicago communities.

Creative Workforce Development

Building Skills. Creating Pathways. Producing Leaders.

Illinois’ creative economy continues to expand across media, performing arts, digital production, live event industries, and cultural institutions. Sustaining this growth requires intentional workforce pipelines that equip young people with both technical proficiency and industry-ready competencies.

iChooz Creative Arts Foundation strengthens this regional pipeline by preparing youth and emerging creatives for meaningful participation in the creative sector. Through structured exposure to technical theatre, multimedia production, audio engineering, and collaborative project execution, participants gain applied experience aligned with industry standards.

Our model integrates hands-on training with leadership development, communication skills, problem-solving, and project management — positioning participants for continued education, employment, and entrepreneurial pathways within Illinois’ cultural economy.

By connecting creative training with sustainable economic opportunity, iChooz advances workforce readiness while expanding equitable access to careers in the arts and production industries.

Technical Arts & Production Training Initiative

Structured Training. Applied Production. Workforce Alignment.

The Technical Arts & Production Training Initiative formalizes and expands iChooz’s established youth production training model into a structured, cohort-based program aligned with industry standards.

Each training cycle serves approximately 20–25 participants, organized into collaborative teams across core technical disciplines, including:

• Stage and set construction
• Audio engineering and sound production
• Lighting design and live production technology
• Multimedia storytelling and content creation
• Production coordination and project management

Participants rotate across disciplines to gain systems-level understanding of live and multimedia production environments while developing focused technical proficiency.

The Foundation is currently developing formal curriculum modules to standardize instruction, strengthen measurable outcomes, and ensure scalability across future cohorts and partner sites. Training emphasizes safety protocols, technical competency, collaborative workflows, and portfolio development.

Through structured instruction combined with applied production experience, participants build industry-relevant skill sets that prepare them for continued education, apprenticeship pathways, and entry-level opportunities within Illinois’ creative economy.

Community Need

Across Illinois, youth — particularly in historically under-resourced communities — face limited access to structured technical arts education aligned with industry workforce standards.

While interest in creative fields remains high, barriers to professional equipment, mentorship, and applied production environments restrict equitable pathway development.

Without intentional workforce pipelines, young creatives remain disconnected from viable opportunities within the region’s growing creative economy.

Program Impact

iChooz Creative Arts Foundation delivers structured, cohort-based technical arts training designed to produce measurable workforce-aligned outcomes.

Participants demonstrate:

• Technical proficiency in audio engineering, stagecraft, lighting, and multimedia production
• Completion of portfolio-quality live and recorded creative works
• Development of collaborative leadership and project management skills
• Increased confidence and communication competencies
• Exposure to continued education and industry pathways

Program success is evaluated through skill demonstrations, completed production projects, documented training hours, and participant feedback.
